Office Policies & Procedures

Antibiotic Policy
We strive to minimize antibiotic overuse by educating families on proper use and adhering to evidence-based guidelines for responsible prescribing. Since many illnesses are viral and don't require antibiotics, our pediatricians explain alternative treatments and emphasize the importance of natural healing when appropriate.
Furthermore, we avoid prescribing antibiotics over the phone, as we believe in conducting proper assessments before doing so. Antibiotics are prescribed only when necessary and appropriate, ensuring patient well-being while mitigating the risks of antibiotic resistance and unnecessary side effects.
Appointment Policy
We respect everyone's time and kindly ask that you arrive 10 minutes early for your appointment. While we understand delays happen, late arrivals may need to reschedule to keep us on schedule.
Missed or canceled appointments without 24-hour notice may incur a fee of $50, as they impact our clinicians, staff, and other patients.
Technology Policy
Our practice values efficiency by utilizing technology. We encourage you to visit our website, register for our patient portal, and use automated reminders for appointments and routine care or immunizations when available.
Vaccine Policy
At Mont Belvieu Pediatrics, we believe that one of the most important ways we can protect the health of children is through immunization. Vaccines have dramatically reduced the incidence of serious childhood illnesses and remain one of the safest and most effective tools in modern medicine.
For these reasons, we generally recommend immunizations according to the schedules recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP).
At the same time, we understand that every family comes with different experiences, questions, and concerns regarding vaccines. Some families choose to follow the recommended schedule, while others may have concerns, prefer a modified schedule, or simply want more information before making decisions.
Our commitment is to provide accurate, evidence-based information in a respectful and supportive environment. We welcome questions and encourage open conversations about immunizations. Our goal is not to pressure families, but to ensure that parents have the information they need to make informed decisions regarding their child's health.
While we will continue to recommend vaccines according to current medical guidelines, we respect each family's decision-making process and are committed to building relationships based on trust, education, and mutual respect. Families who have questions about vaccines, prefer a modified schedule, or are still considering their options are welcome in our practice.
